07/16/2002

07/16/2002 – LONDON, Ontario, Canada

Chrysler has selected TDS automotive to provide inbound logistics support to their Windsor and Pillette assembly plants.

TDS automotive today released details of a new operation the company is launching in Windsor, Ontario. From a custom-designed 153,000 square foot facility, located at 599 Sprucewood near the E.C. Row Expressway, TDS automotive will provide inbound logistics services to the Chrysler Windsor and Pillette Road assembly plants.

The new TDS automotive operation will handle parts for the Dodge Grand Caravan and Chrysler Town & Country, the Dodge Ram Van and the all new Chrysler Pacifica.

The operation will be comprised of an Integrated Logistics Centre providing parts metering and container management services. This will be a three-shift operation handling an annual volume of parts for approximately 318,000 vehicles.

"We are extremely pleased with the way this deal came together, being the first new facility contract for TDS automotive since acquiring Mackie Automotive Systems in January. The confidence Chrysler has in the strength of TDS automotive is clearly demonstrated through this contract award. We are looking forward to a long, mutually rewarding relationship with Chrysler in Windsor", said Jos Opdeweegh, TDS President & CEO.

TDS automotive currently provides similar services to Chrysler for their Jefferson North and Warren Truck assembly plants. TDS automotive also performs consolidation and international export packing services for Chrysler in Brownstown, Michigan.
