In the past three months TDS logistics has been awarded two significant new contracts by the Volkswagen Group.
 
Audi AG recently awarded a new three year contract to TDS in Emden, Germany. Under the terms of this contract TDS will continue providing export packing service for the premium carmaker until the end of 2009. In Emden TDS has provided export packing (CKD) services of supplier parts for Audi to Changchun, China since 2000. TDS supports the Audi A4 and A6L production in China. TDS service scope will also continue to include complete supply chain management responsibility and packaging engineering services.
 
“It is a significant achievement to keep the business in Emden”, stated Andreas Neumeister, TDS Senior Business Development Manager, Volkswagen Group. “Our strong performance and especially the outstanding quality level we have been able to provide over the past years are the key factors of our success”. In June 2006 TDS Emden was awarded the Volkswagen Group “World Championship Trophy for Quality Packaging Audits”; in recognition of TDS achieving the highest quality performance of all export packing locations within the Volkswagen Group worldwide over the preceding 12 months.
 
Based on a similar level of service and quality, TDS was also able to sign a three year contract extension with Volkswagen AG for its inbound plant in Brussels, Belgium, earlier this year. Since 2003 TDS has performed pre-assembly and sequencing of rear axles and corner modules for the VW Golf and other models in Brussels. Following expiry of the original three year term, Volkswagen has extended the contract with TDS logistics till 2009.
